Event Description

Beats in the Box & Tropical Harmony: Festival Closing Night

We close the festival the way it should be closed,  together. Join us at The Box for a high-energy, open-hearted night of live music, spoken word, and shared creativity, led by the community, for the community.

The evening kicks off with Beats in the Box, bringing together some of Coventry’s most exciting and diverse voices in an electric cypher celebrating language, rhythm, and storytelling. Expect a rich mix of spoken word, live beats, singing, songwriting, and experimental sound, with performances ranging from Beebee Bassey’s soulful vocals infused with poetic expression, to Limz’s sharp, rhythm-driven spoken word, alongside other local artists and surprise collaborators.

The energy then flows into a special set from Tropical Harmony, a collective known for their vibrant, rhythm-led sound and deep roots in collaboration and connection. From there, the night opens up into a Community Freestyle Jam, where the mic truly belongs to everyone.

Whether you’re a singer, songwriter, poet, spoken word artist, rapper, or part of a band, you’re invited to step up and share. With Tropical Harmony providing live backing music, anyone can come forward to perform, collaborate, improvise, or try something new, no pressure, just collective energy and mutual support.

As the night draws to a close, we’ll gather for a shared moment of gratitude, and, if people are up for it, we’ll capture something special together. A videographer will be present throughout the evening, and there will be an opportunity at the end of the night to take part in a collective music video to mark the festival’s closing, open to anyone who wants to be involved.

🎶 Expect:
Singers • Songwriters • Bands • Poets • Spoken Word Artists • Freestyles • Improvisation • Collaboration

💛 All proceeds from the event will go to charity.

This night is about community, by the community, sharing voices, stories, and space.

All ages are welcome.
