Event Description

Paper Forests Workshop
Transform simple paper into intricate natural forms in this relaxing and meditative workshop. Inspired by Wycinanki ( traditional Polish papercutting) and working with the shapes, textures and patterns of a forest you’ll create your own unique designs through cutting, folding and sculpting paper. Artist Clare Pentlow will guide you through the different techniques as you create intricately designed trees and leaves using found paper. all materials are provided.

Clare’s fascination with paper drives her practice, as she hand-cuts and folds to create increasingly intricate and textured artworks. She enjoys transforming paper from an ordinary material into something extraordinary, balancing its strength and fragility. Through precise, methodical handwork, her pieces evolve layer by layer, resulting in highly textured, mesmerizing artworks inspired by patterns and colours in nature. Her approach is rooted in a love of maths and science, bringing careful attention and patience to every creation.
